Welcome to our digital tour

Welcome to our digital tour

The doors to IES Värmdö will open in August 2021. We are currently building a completely new modern school building with everything required to offer students the ideal learning environment. The school is located in the area Charlottendal, just southwest of Gustavsberg centre.  In a few years, the school will have two classes in each year – from förskoleklass to year nine.

Are you curious what life is like at IES? Do take the time to do a digital tour in some of our other schools. Here you may find several films which we hope will provide you with insight of what we, our students and their parents consider to be important in creating a good school.

Building update

The work inside the school building is moving forward. Now you can see that our new school will look fantastic, even though it is still a building site.  We are happy that everything is going as planned. Colourful corridors, bright classrooms and lockers and clothing racks have been put in place.

Welcoming our English teacher in Senior school

Mr Davis

Please help me in welcoming Mr Davis back to Sweden and back to IES. Mr Davis previously worked at IES Eskilstuna for three years. Now returning to Sweden again after having explored teaching overseas. I am very much looking forward to working with him, having heard so much positive about him and his teaching.

My name is Paul Davies and I have been involved in education for 12 years as a sports coach, primary school teacher and secondary school teacher. I was born and raised in England but I have also lived in Greece, Spain, Thailand and Sweden. I will be part of the English team for the Senior School. I look forward to being an integral part of the new school team and helping the senior school grow each year.

A warm welcome to one of our teachers in year 1-3

A warm welcome to one of our teachers in year 1-3

Hello all students and guardians,

My name is Ida Ganstrand and I will work as a teacher in the early years of primary school 1-3. I am so happy to be part of the team at IES Värmdö. For me, education is important and I look forward to engaging and arousing curiosity for learning in students. I graduated from the teaching program last year from the University of Gävle and have since worked at a local school here in Värmdö.

I grew up in Stockholm, Sweden and I now live with my husband and our three children here in beautiful Värmdö. In my spare time I like to spend time with family and friends and like to make excursions in the archipelago and nature. I have a great interest in books and I love to read books, preferably in a deck chair by the sea.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

Best regards,

Ida Ganstrand
